Industrial Design

This concentration trains students to design art objects of a utilitarian nature. Aesthetic principles are applied in the design and production of functional pieces.

Fashion Design

This course of study proposes to develop designers who master digital technology as used in the garment industry and are able to create prototypes for manufacturing. Emphasis is given to market analysis for the design.

Sculpture

Sculpture is the three-dimensional expression of art: modeling, carving and construction are its work methods. Contemporary sculptors use a variety of material in their work.

Image & Design

The Image and Design program is designed to develop new media artists and competent and creative, designers, with a broad general culture and a mastery of communications technology.

Printmaking

Printmaking is a two-dimensional form of artistic expression, involving multiple reproduction. Printmaking includes traditional as well as contemporary techniques such as Relief Printmaking, intaglio, lithography, collograph, silk screen, photography and photographic derivatives.

Painting

Painting is one of the principal means of expression of visual arts. The Painting Program ranges from traditional to experimental and interdisciplinary manifestations.

Art Education

The bachelor's degree in Art with an Art Education concentration is designed to provide the student with knowledge and skills in the field of education.

Annual Graduates’ Show

The Escuela de Artes Plásticas presents the Annual Graduate Exhibition at the Museo de las Américas at the Cuartel de Ballajá in Old San Juan. Varied in its content, the show invites the spectator to be part of the Works presented in Hall 3 and 8 at the second level of the Museum. The show will be open June 18 - 30.

Summer Art Camp

During the months of June and July, the Extension Program will be holding Summer Workshops for children and youths of ages 5-16. The first workshop will be held June 1 to 25 and the second from July 1 to 30. Both will include drawing, painting, sculpture and caricature.
