The Escuela de Artes Plásticas is the foremost university of fine arts in Puerto Rico. Our mission is to form artists, designers and art teachers of excellence and to promote the value and appreciation of art as a cultural and humanistic expression. The Escuela provides bachelor’s degrees in six majors: Image and Design (with sub-specializations in Digital Design and in Image and Motion), Art Education, Sculpture, Painting, Industrial Design (with sub-specialization in Furniture Design) and Fashion Design. In addition, we serve the community with art courses and workshops for adults, youths and children through our Extension program.
The Escuela’s teaching staff consists of artists of national and international recognition. We have excellent physical facilities, with fully equipped workshops and library, located in a privileged area of Old San Juan. The accomplishment of our mission is evident in the professional success of our graduates.
The School of Visual Arts of Puerto Rico is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the Council of Higher Education of Puerto Rico (CESPR), as well as is an associate member of the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD).
