The Escuela de Artes Plásticas receives applications from talented and highly-motivated students who are committed to receiving a professional education in the arts.

The Admissions Office processes applications from high school students and accredited university level institutions. The Office receives and evaluates the official documentation of the candidates for admission, and provides information to students regarding admission requirements, application procedures, and courses of study offered by the Escuela.

Special Requirements for Admission

All candidates for the regular bachelor's degree program must present a Portfolio of their work or take the Admissions Seminar.

Portafolio

Recommended for students with experience in the arts. To be admitted, students shall submit a minimum of 10 creative works. The portfolio reflects interests, concepts, creativity, energy and motivation, as well as his or her previous experience in visual arts. The portfolios are evaluated at different times of the year.

Admissions Seminar

Recommended for students who have less experience in the arts and need to acquire essential skills in order to pursue studies at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas. Students will develop a portfolio during the Seminar, which is offered twice a year on the dates in the Academic Calendar.

Interview and Essay

The Escuela interviews all applicants for admission. In addition, applicants are asked to write a short essay which is evaluated by the Admissions Committee.

Procedures to Apply for Admission for New Students:

New Admission Students
Submit the application before the Admissions Seminar or before submitting a portfolio. The application for admission should be submitted with the following documents:
  • Official high school transcript or equivalent
  • Results of the College Entrance Examination Board or SAT
  • Vaccination Certificate, if the student is under the age of 21
  • Postal money order or certified check made out to Escuela de Artes Plásticas in the amount of $25.00
  • Receipt of payment for the Seminar or Admission Portfolio
Home Schoolers
Apply before the Admissions Seminar or before submitting a portfolio. The application for Admission should be submitted with the following documents:
  • A notarized document certifying the student was home schooled.
  • Results of the College Entrance Examination Board or SAT
  • Vaccination Certificate, if the student is under the age of 21
  • Postal money order or certified check made out to Escuela de Artes Plásticas in the amount of $25.00
  • Evidencia de pago del Seminario o portafolio de admisión
  • Receipt of payment for the Seminar or Admission Portfolio

Open Studies

The Escuela offers another enrollment option for the community at large and students who were not accepted to the bachelor's degree program. The Open Study Program allows them to take regular courses at the Escuela to become better prepared and apply for admission or for personal and professional improvement. Applicants shall submit an Application for Admission and pay the fee of $20.00. Admission to this program does not guarantee admission to the bachelor's degree program.
